Discussions about the condition of contemporary liberal democracy have become one of the key research problems of political science in recent years. Threats to the persistence of democratic regimes or even the process of backsliding of democracy itself are the focus of many analyses that take into account its various aspects, including social, economic, cultural, technological and political. The aim of the publication is to identify threats to liberal democracy characteristic of the Visegrad Group countries. The choice of this region is certainly particularly interesting. On the one hand, we are talking about countries geographically close to each other, with a seemingly similar recent history, but on the other hand, with different specifics of economic development, different economic potential and diverse societies. There is no doubt, however, that this is a region that requires comparative research, including in the field of political science.
