W monografii Zeznania świadków i ich wartość dowodowa w rzymskim procesie karnym dr Andrzej Chmiel z Katedry Prawa Rzymskiego UMCS przypomina antyczną manierę procesualistyczną, zgodnie z którą zeznania świadków przez wieki postrzegane były jako najważniejszy i najsilniejszy zarazem środek dowodowy. Z tego powodu przedstawiciele doktryny prawa rzymskiego poświęcali im wiele uwagi, a cesarz Justynian wprowadził nawet obowiązek składania zeznań przez świadków oskarżenia. Wnioski swe formułuje autor w oparciu nie tylko o najbardziej znane źródła prawnicze, ale odwołuje się również do utworów historyków, retorów, a nawet poetów starożytnych. The author outlines the history of administrative science and administrative law in leading European countries, such as France and Germany, demonstrating exceptional knowledge of this subject matter.

Almost 50 years since the emergence of community-based tourism (CBT) confusion about this concept and its practices persist. This book is a modest attempt by the author to clarify CBT concepts and practices by consolidating his previous work on various aspects of CBT. The book actively promotes a CBT approach and proposes various strategies to advance and expand it.
At the same time the book proposes that while further debate on the different aspects of CBT development should be encouraged, it remains important to acknowledge the milieu in which it currently operates, calling for deep introspection on the part of international and local entities that support it.
